Installing Messenger on your Android device

This article will walk you through installing Patch Messenger on your android device.

1. Open the Google Chrome browser on your device.

2. In the URL section type or copy and paste: https://messenger.patchretention.com/ 

3. Once the website loads, click on the three dots (kebab menu/more options menu) in the top right corner of the browser.

4. Then, click on the “ Install app” option OR “Add to Home screen” option, depending on which option is available on your device.

5. When the Install app pop-up opens, click on “Install”.

or if you are using the 'add to home screen' option follow these steps: 

Choose a name for the website shortcut on your home screen. You'll see the link to confirm it and the site's favicon that will appear as the "app" icon on your home screen. Click Add when you're done. Google Chrome will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your Android device.

 

6. The Patch logo will appear on the device’s app menu screen when the app/shortcut installation is complete.

7. Click on the Patch icon to open the Messenger app on your device.

8. Then, you will be prompted to select the account you are accessing.

9. Once the account is selected, you will be asked if you would like to allow push notifications.

Select:

YES if you would like to receive push notifications for all incoming messages

OR

NO, if you would not like to receive push notifications for incoming messages.

10. Next, click OK on the 'Grant Push Notifications' page.

11. Then, click "Allow" on the following pop-up.
