Getting Started with Segments
Segments are dynamic groups of contacts categorized based on specific criteria such as demographics, behavior, or purchase history. Where to find segments
To manage your segments, navigate to Settings > Segments in your Patch account. This centralized location is your hub for segment creation and management.
Creating and Managing Segments
Here’s how to create and manage your segments:
- Create a New Segment: Click the purple plus button to open the create segment dialog. Define the criteria for your segment and save.
- Edit a Segment: Select a segment and click the Edit icon to modify its criteria.
- Delete a Segment: Choose a segment and hit the Delete icon to remove it from your list.
- Duplicate a Segment: To use an existing segment as a template, click the Duplicate icon.

Segments in Contacts

- Segment Picker: In the top bar of your contact data table there is a people group icon that contains your Segments. Use this picker to filter your contacts view.
- Reset Button: Clears any selected segment for a fresh start.
Segments and Blast Campaigns
You can use Segments seamlessly with Blast campaigns:
- Create Blasts from within Segments: Directly from the Segments data table, configure recipients and create marketing blasts tailored to each segment.
- Filter Recipients within Blasts: Use the new Filter UI in the Blast Editor to select recipients based on segment criteria.
Segments in Automations
Patch Segments also integrate with automations:
- Filter Action Block: Access Segments within the "Add Conditions" step of the Filter action block.
- Select Contacts Block: Access Segments within the "Add Conditions" step of the Select Contacts action block.
Segments in the Contact Field Editor
The Patch contact field editor can be found any where a contact field can be added to an element under the "Form Options" section. "Form Options" are available throughout the Patch suite of marketing tools and are used to manage contact fields that capture data . Segments can be used to save time for commonly used form option field filters.
